Portland United FC has been officially accepted into the UPSL Oregon Premier Division. After months of preparation, the club's first competitive season is set for Spring 2027.
It is the first concrete step in a long-term project: a competitive football club built for the entire Portland Metro. Acceptance into the Oregon Premier Division gives Portland United a stage to compete on from its very first season — and a foundation to build on for years to come.
A Club Built for the Long Run
Portland United FC was founded in 2026 on a simple idea: the Portland Metro deserves a competitive club that belongs to the entire region — not one neighborhood, not one pocket, but the whole of it, from the west side to the east, from the city core to the suburbs.
Entry into the UPSL is not the finish line. It is the starting point. The club is building infrastructure, a genuine development pathway, and a community institution designed to last for generations.
"We are not here to make up the numbers. We are here to build something the entire Portland Metro can be proud of — and that takes time, discipline, and vision."

With entry secured, attention turns to the pitch. A head coach appointment, player recruitment, and pre-season preparation will shape the first competitive squad through late 2026, ahead of the club's first fixtures in Spring 2027.
The earliest supporters, partners, and players are the ones who build a club's identity. There has never been a better time to join.
